Nelson, Air Mechanic Class II Harry (3405)

Harry Nelson was born in Goulburn, NSW, on 13 July 1890. He was working as a Fruiterer in Victoria when he joined the AFC on 5 October 1917. After training at Laverton, he departed from Sydney on RMS Osterley on 8 May 1918. On arrival in England in July, he was taken to the Cerebrospinal Fever [the contemporary term for Meningococcal Meningitis] Carrier Centre at Saunderton, and from there to Hospital in Aylesbury in mid October.
He died from pneumonia at Aylesbury on 22 October 1918.
AMII H Nelson is buried in Grave II 52 at Aylesbury Cemetery, England.
