Alfred Freeman came from Fairfield, Victoria. He was 22, and an Accountant, when he joined theAFC on 2 July 1917. He left from Melbourne in HMAT A60 Aeneas on 30 October 1917.

After arrival in the UK he had a long train of illnesses, including appendicitis, and was in hospital for much of 1918, until he was posted to the RAF Armament School at Uxbridge in August.

He died from pneumonia at Aylesbury on 6 November 1918.

AMII A L Freeman is buried in Grave X 64 at Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England.
