Filmer, Air Mechanic Class II Edgar Thomas (3148)

No 5 Training Sqn AFC

Edgar Filmer was from Traralgon, Victoria, and joined the AFC at Laverton on 24 January 1918 when he was 28 and working as a Carpenter. He departed from Melbourne for the UK on RMAS Ormonde in March. After technical training, he was posted to No 5 Training Sqn AFC at Minchinhampton in September.

He fell victim to the influenza pandemic and died from pneumonia in the AFC Hospital at Tetbury on 12 February 1919.

AMII E T Filmer is buried at Leighterton Church Cemetery, Gloucestershire, England.
