Ferreira, Corporal Raymond Augustus (1137)

Raymond Ferreira came from Melbourne, and was aged 26 and working as an Engine Fitter when he joined the Australian Army Service Corps in Melbourne on 8 May 1916. He transferred to the AFC in January 1917 and left Melbourne on HMAT A5 Omrah on the 17th of that month. After arrival in the UK he was posted to No 71 (Australian) Sqn, at Castle Bromwich, where he was promoted to Corporal in August.
He died from blood poisoning from a septic finger at the 1st Southern General Hospital in Edgbaston, England, on 15 October 1917.
