Felsted, Lieutenant Theo
No 1 Sqn AFC
Theo Felstead was born in Balaclava, Victoria, and was a 23 year old Merchant when he enlisted in No 1 Sqn AFC as a Private in Melbourne on 25 January 1916. He embarked for the UK on 16 March on HMAT A67 Orsova. In November 1916 he was commissioned and in April 1917 he was posted to No 68 (Australian) Sqn in the UK, but had to spend some time in hospital. Due to prostate problems and other medical matters he was returned to Australia on HMAT A71 Nestor which left the UK on 21 September 1917.
He died of heart failure on 16 January 1918 in No 11 Australian General Hospital in Caulfield, Victoria.
Lt T Felstead is buried in Grave Meth H 2 at Brighton Military Cemetery, Victoria, Australia.
