Curwen-Walker, Lieutenant Jack Keith

Jack Curwen-Walker came from Melbourne. He was born on 18 March 1888 and was an Importer and Agent, as well as serving as a Lieutenant in the AMF, when he joined No 2 Sqn AFC as a Second Lieutenant in Melbourne on 5 October 1916, before departing Melbourne on HMAT A38 Ulysses on 25 October. After training, injury, and a period of illness in England, he was posted to Egypt for final training and was appointed as a pilot officer in December, after which he joined No 67 (Australian) Sqn in January 1918.

He was killed in an aircraft accident on 3 May 1918 when flying Bristol F2B A7198 with Cpl N P B Jensen, who was also killed. The aeroplane spun and crashed soon after a dawn takeoff.

Lt J Curwen-Walker is buried in Grave CC 57 at Ramleh Cemetery, Palestine.
